About Dr. Andrew

Lancaster Chiropractor, Andrew Ashton, who practices gentle, low-impact Torque Release Technique at A Therapeutic Effect

Dr. Andrew Ashton is a 2005 graduate of Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. Driven by his desire to give his patients the ultimate in care, Dr. Andrew went on to receive his certification in Torque Release Technique in 2006 from the Holder Research Institute. He chose to specialize in this chiropractic modality because it has been proven superior in providing immediate results and because it is a low-impact technique, it can be used on people of any age.  Dr. Andrew is one of the few chiropractors in the Greater Lancaster area who incorporates Torque Release Technique in his treatments.

Torque Release Technique is a very specific, low-impact technique which uses a hand held instrument to directly resonate with the area of spinal dysfunction that is causing nerve interference, or spinal subluxation. This hand held instrument is called “The Integrator™” and is the only FDA approved adjusting instrument in chiropractic, stemming from the largest double-blind study in chiropractic. Often confused with “The Activator,” another hand held chiropractic instrument, The Integrator™ is unique in that the force, frequency of energy, torque, speed and thrust provided by the Integrator™ have all been tailor-made to deliver the perfect amount of energy to help normalize nerve function.

Dr. Ashton has extensive working knowledge of biomechanics, fitness/sport training, sports injury, exercise physiology, and health and wellness. Prior to chiropractic school, he attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA and graduated in 2000 with a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science. Dr. Ashton was a student trainer for four years and was later inducted it Phi Epsilon Kappa, the Exercise and Sports Science honor society.
